GYOKO-CHOLA PASS-KALAPATTHAR

Gokyo lake lies in one of the most popular trekking regions to the east of Kathmandu. Renowned not only for Sherpa villages and monasteries of the region, this trek is famous due to its proximity to Everest. The highest mountain in the world continues to lure adventurers as ever before. The highest destination of this trek is Kalapathar (5545m.) even though you cross the Cho La pass (5368m.) in between Gokyo Lake (4800m) to Labuche. You will partake in the mesmerizing view of the Ama Dablam, (Beauty of the region) Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Lhotse (8,501 m), Nuptse (7,879 m) as well as many others from Gokyo RI. The trek begins from Lukla after 35 minute scenic flight from Kathmandu. We have designed an itinerary for regular trekkers but we can make it a little longer or shorter according to our clients' interest.

Itinerary

Day 1: Kathmandu to Lukla (2872m) by flight than 3 hrs trek to Phakding 2866 m

Day 2: 5 hrs trek to Namche 3446 m

Day 3: Rest day at Namche for acclimatization 3446 m

Day 4: Trek to Dole, 6 hrs trek 4084 m

Day 5: Trek to Machermo, 3 hrs trek 4465 m

Day 6: Gokyo 1 (via Mengma, Tabuche, Dudh Pokhari Lakes), 5 hrs trek 4850 m

Day 7: Trek and explore around Gokyo Ri and over night at Gokyo 1 5483 m

Day 8: Trek Chhugiema 4800 m

Day 9: 8 hrs trek to Dzanglha via Chola Col (5420 m) 4900 m

Day 10: 5 hrs trek to Lobuche 4930 m Day 11: Trek to Gorak Shep 5 hrs 5200 m

Day 12: 6 hrs trek to Kalapattar (5543 meters) & EBC and back to Lobuche 4930 m

Day 13: 5 hrs trek to Pheriche 4252 m

Day 14: 5 hrs trek to Tangbocue 3867 m

Day 15: 5 hrs trek to Namche 3446 m

Day 16: 5 hrs trek to Lukla and reconfirmed air ticket to Kathamdnu. 2866 m

Day 17 40 minutes flight to Kathamdnu in the morning 1400 m

Highlight: Lakes, several Himalayas like Mount Everest, Lhotse, Choyu, and uncountable Khumbu region mountains, ethnic group, desert and excellent landscape, water fall, monasteries visit, different mammals, birds, rhododendron flowers, flora, fauna and etc.

Altitude: Minimum 2866m. and maximum 5543 m. Grading: difficult Trek type: Tea house lodges .
