Everest Base Camp Trek Itinerary (16 Days)

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)

  • Arrive in Kathmandu.
  • Transfer to your hotel and meet your guide.
  • Free time for rest or exploring Thamel.

Day 2: Trek preparation/permit day and sightseeing.

  • Permit processing and trek prep.
  • Optional sightseeing around Kathmandu.

Day 3: Fly to Lukla (2,860m) & Trek to Phakding (2,610m) – 3 to 4 hrs

  • Scenic flight to Lukla.
  • Trek through the Dudh Koshi valley to Phakding.

Day 4: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m) – 5 to 6 hrs

  • Cross suspension bridges.
  • Ascend through pine forests.
  • Enter Sagarmatha National Park.
  • Climb to Namche Bazaar.

Day 5: Acclimatisation Day in Namche Bazaar

  • Explore Namche town.
  • Hike to Everest View Hotel.
  • Visit the Sherpa museum.

Day 6: Trek to Tengboche (3,860m) – 5 to 6 hrs

  • Descend to Dudh Koshi River.
  • Climb to Tengboche Monastery.
  • Enjoy Everest views.

Day 7: Trek to Dingboche (4,410m) – 5 to 6 hrs

  • Pass rhododendron forests.
  • Cross the Imja River.
  • Enter the alpine zone.

Day 8: Acclimatisation Day in Dingboche

  • Optional hike to Nangkartshang Peak (5,083m).
  • Views of Makalu, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam.

Day 9: Trek to Lobuche (4,910m) – 5 to 6 hrs

  • Climb through the valley.
  • Pass climbers’ memorials.
  • Reach Lobuche.

Day 10: Trek to Gorak Shep (5,140m) & Everest Base Camp (5,364m) – 7 to 8 hrs

  • Drop bags at Gorak Shep.
  • Hike to Everest Base Camp.
  • Return to Gorak Shep.

Day 11: Hike Kala Patthar (5,545m) & Trek to Pheriche (4,240m) – 7 to 8 hrs

  • Early morning climb to Kala Patthar for sunrise views.
  • Descend to Pheriche.

Day 12: Trek to Namche Bazaar – 6 to 7 hrs

  • Trek back to Namche Bazaar.

Day 13: Trek to Lukla – 6 to 7 hrs

  • Final trekking day.
  • Celebrate with the team.

Day 14: Fly back to Kathmandu

  • Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu.

Day 15: Buffer day in case of flight cancellation

  • Extra day for unforeseen delays.

Day 16: Departure from Kathmandu
